Downsville Opera House

The Opera House was built in 1906 by A. J. Fairburn.  This cement block building contained the Downsville Bank, Telephone Co., Theatre, Opera House Pharmacy, a gym and three apartments.  The building burned in 1949.  A new fire hall was built in 1954 on the land where the Opera House stood.  The Downsville Library was located in the Fire Hall before it moved to the basement of the Colchester Town Hall
